Streamlining Discovery

Written by Kirsten Nicholas | Aug 24, 2016 8:27:22 PM

Over at Indiewalls, one of our favorite pastimes is discovering great art. Whether happening upon new artists or visiting favorite works, we believe that an art search should be exciting, fun, and effective.

Taking these thoughts into consideration, we’ve updated how users browse art onsite. This product enhancement creates a more streamlined discovery experience through the use of an advanced filtration system.

Users have the ability to sort options by filtering via medium, artist location, color, title, description, attributes and even by image!

The Catalog is accessible from within a specific open call or on its own. From within an open call, users can peruse artwork and add pieces to the call by favoriting them. Outside of a specific open call, artwork can be compiled into Collections (projects without a brief) by favoriting. These Collections can be turned into full-fledged projects after creating a brief or used to complete smaller projects - See our blog article, NEW “Collections” Feature on Indiewalls.com

Additionally, you can now search by image, simply upload your inspiration image!

Roundup of Catalog Highlights:

  1. The ability to favorite artwork either inside or outside a specific Open Call
  2. Advanced filtration through medium, location, artist name, image, description, and attributes

The Indiewalls Catalog is now fun, pointed, and purposeful. We hope you enjoy our enhancements as much as we do. Go forth and explore!
